Cyber Security as an emerging value proposition for the Swiss financial services sector

From threat to opportunity

Data protection may emerge as a key value proposition for the Swiss banking sector. Following the security issues with consumer data at large US tech companies, the strategic imperative to protect client data has become more essential than ever – especially in the banking sector. Switzerland is uniquely positioned to sharpen its value proposition in this context. To do so, the financial industry will need to build on the Swiss tradition of client data protection to thrive in a digital, data-driven world. But if the country’s financial institutions can achieve this, the financial center can position itself as the global hub for data protection – potentially inspiring an unparalleled sense of client trust.

This event will discuss the challenges, opportunities in terms of the newest technological innovations, potential avenues of collaboration, and what the financial industry is best advised to do to become future-fit in a data-driven world.
